A 2-day Adventure photo tour in the Vercors Natural Regional Park in France. In the middle of fall, explore this exceptional park and meet its incredible wildlife: Alpine Ibex, Rock Ptarmigan, Eurasian Pygmy-owl, etc.
Alternative Tour Name: An Adventure In Vercors
We will meet at 9 am in the Vercors Natural Regional Park. We will make the first hike in a sublime forest, looking for the Eurasian Pygmy-owl, an extraordinary nocturnal raptor. Autumnal colors make this place absolutely magical. In this part of the park, encounters with cervids are also possible. Later, we will have a good picnic in nature. In the afternoon, we will hike to our refuge after a short drive. Once arrived, we will settle and discover the surroundings at sunset in the hope of meeting some birds and mammals of the Vercors Natural Regional Park. Dinner will be cooked together in the refuge.
Important: this is a mountain refuge, open to all, with a unique room for everybody. Comfort is minimum and amenities are extremely limited. It is indeed an ADVENTURE tour :D
We will get up early to spend as much time as possible in the field. After a very simple breakfast, we will go in search of wild Alpine Ibex. Autumn is an exceptional season to watch them. We will picnic on site, potentially surrounded by a herd of Alpine Ibex, also enjoying one of the most beautiful views of the Vercors Natural Regional Park. Although it is possible to see many animals, this day is entirely dedicated to the Alpine Ibex. We will hopefully observe them and photograph them until the afternoon when we will start our descent to go back to our starting point. The tour will end in the afternoon.
Wildlife Species expected to see:
Alpine Ibex.
