Wildlife Tour in Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater
This 5-day Tarangire Safari tour is moderately paced and is a unique budget camping tour that's available on request. On this shared tour, you will join a group of other travellers, with a maximum of 6 people per vehicle. The tour is ideal for single travellers wanting to join a larger group, but requires a minimum of 4 individuals to run.
During this Tarangire safari you will spend time in the most famous national parks in Northern Tanzania, to explore the rich wildlife, landscape and culture, starting with the rolling grasslands of Tarangire National Park, dotted with old Baobab trees and traditional nomadic Maasai settlements. From there we venture to Lake Manyara National Park, where you might be lucky enough to observe lions that climb trees!
We continue your Tarangire safari at the Great Serengeti National Park, which is home to more than 3 million animals and offers the best opportunity of viewing all of the so-called 'Big Five' species: Lions, Leopards, Rhinos, Elephants and Buffalos. No less impressive are the other denizens of the park, including Giraffes, Cheetahs and Ostriches.
This Tarangire safari also also visits the Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcano, located within the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. It serves as a habitat for a significant number of species, including the critically endangered Black Rhinoceros, as well as large herds of Wildebeest, Zebras, Thomson and Grant Gazelles, Hippopotamus, Black-backed Jackals, Hyenas, Serval Cats and as many as 400 different species of bird, including huge flocks of Flamingos.
Depending on the time of your visit, you may be lucky enough to witness the annual Great Wildebeest Migration in the northern section of the Serengeti, generally heading in the direction of the Mara River. It's an absolutely stunning and unforgettable experience.
