Guided by an ornithologist, we will explore some of the most interesting wetlands for birdwatchers and nature photographers, home to multiple species of water birds, and a strategic point for migratory birdlife.

Rendez-vous at Catania International Airport and transfer to Catania. Arrival at the hotel located in the city center. Free visit of the city and tasting of sicilian pastries and arancini. Dinner in a typical restaurant with a menu based on home-made pasta and traditional meat dishes.
Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to the countryside of Syracuse. Exploration of Cavagrande Reserve between gorges and ponds. Moving to Priolo Saltpans and Magnisi Peninsula. Birdwatching (with greater flamingo, pied avocet, black-winged stilt and stone curlew among the highlights). Transfert to Syracuse and free visit of the city. Sicily boasts, as regards herpetofauna, endemic and extremely interesting species, among them: sicilian green toad (Bufotes boulengeri siculus), mediterranean painted frog (Discoglossus pictus), ocellated skink (Chalcides ocellatus), sicilian wall lizard (Podarcis waglerianianus).
