During this 3-day birding tour on average expect to see between 200-250 bird species. Operador Latino know the best places where we can find ths Holy Grail of birding, from October to April where they will take you in the most wonderfull tropical adventrue to find the Quetzal and much more.

Day 1
Day 1 - Morning departure from “Las Verapaces”

Morning departure from “Las Verapaces” to the National Biotope Dary Rivera, known as the Biotopo del Quetzal located at 165kms from the town. The Biotope is a sanctuary for Guatemala’s national bird, “the Resplendent Quetzal”. In addition to the possibility of spotting a Quetzal, the reserve has well-maintained trails that meander through this beautiful and lush cloud forest, where you may be able to spot many other birds as well.

Upon our arrival, we will go to the area with a natural forest and excellent trails for bird watching. Then we will return and go to Café Guarumo, where we will have lunch and in the afternoon, we continue our observation on the paths of the site, lodging in Natural Reserve Los Ranchitos.

Day 2
Day 2 - Observation in the surroundings of the Lodge and return to Guatemala city

We will enjoy an early morning observation in the surroundings of the Lodge. This day we will favor the exploration on the trails to cover more of the forest and look for species not seen before. In the afternoon, we return to Guatemala City.
