The Hoollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary located in Jorhat, Assam is an evergreen forest located in Assam. This sanctuary is home to the only apes that can be found in India, the Hoolock Gibbon. The Hoolock Gibbon is the second-largest gibbon found. Finding these arboreal mammals in the thick forest is tough but photographing them adds a feather to every photographer’s hat for sure!
Nameri National Park is located in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas in the Sonitpur District of Assam, India. Nameri hosts a semi-evergreen, moist deciduous forest with cane and bamboo brakes and narrow strips of open grassland along rivers. With records of more than 300 bird species, Nameri is a birdwatcher's paradise!
White-winged Wood Duck, Great Pied Hornbill, Wreathed Hornbill, Rufous Necked Hornbill, Common Merganser, King Vulture, Long-Billed Ring Plover, Khalij Pheasant are some of the exclusive bird species that can be found here.
