This 6-day Birding and Nature Photography tour is designed to visit two spectacular areas of Bolivia, travelling through the unchartered wilderness from the Beni lowlands up to the contrasting landscapes of the Andes. The varying habitats bring an exciting assortment of wildlife to enjoy and photograph, including the extremely rare and endemic Blue-throated and Red-Fronted Macaws.
Tour departs from Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Regular flight to Trinidad, combining with charter flight to Barba Azul. Explore the area for the Blue-throated Macaw and other wildlife. Two nights basic lodging at local Estancia.
Explore the Barba Azul Nature Reserve.
Flight back to Santa Cruz. Overnight at local hotel in Santa Cruz.
Overland transfer to Mizque River valley. Arrive in the afternoon and start exploring the area for the Red-fronted Macaw and other birds. Two nights basic lodging at local Lodge.
Explore the Red-fronted Macaw Conservation Area.
Drive back to Santa Cruz, where the tour ends.
