Doñana National Park Birdwatching Trip on Horseback
A one-day Horseback Birding Trip is a full-day 25km adventure. This trip starts from sunrise to sunset, offering the possibility of entering areas of the national park, which otherwise would be impossible to visit. This horseback birdwatching trip we take you through forests, rivers, lagoons and marshes to discover the wildest nature.
The horse in Doñana is part of his history and ethnography. Wild horses still live throughout the national park and date back to the ancient herds of Arab horses that were introduced by Muslims. They resided in Andalusia more than 800 years ago, and it was Christopher Columbus who took those horses to America, later released as mustang horses or Mustangs.
Many of the tasks required by environmental agents throughout Doñana use horses, even today. The horse is of great importance to be able to move around the park in an environmentally sensitive way as motor vehicles cannot be used to access some remote and challenging areas of the park.
Living Doñana offers you the opportunity to spend an unforgettable day on horseback, enjoying the observation of nature and especially the birds of the park. Many of the adventurers who arrived in these lands more than a century ago, discovered the incredible biodiversity offered by Doñana on horseback.
During horseback birdwatching trip we will make a number stops for tapas and refreshments throughout Doñana National Park.
