Birding Trips throughout Extremadura
Private full-day Extremadura Bird Watching Trips are relaxing paced trips that are provided (subject to availability) to help those who are doing their own thing get the best of their birdwatching holidays in Extremadura.
Extremadura is quite simply one of the best birding destinations in Europe and is especially rewarding any time from late autumn to early summer. High summer has its own attractions for those particularly interested in butterflies and dragonflies. There is plenty of space in this area of Spain for nature, thanks to its low human population density and largely traditional farming practices.
There is a surprising diversity of landscapes, each with its own distinct bird communities. Extremadura is renowned for the birds of prey, with no fewer than 23 breeding species, including the highest densities in the world of Black Vulture.
Let Martin Kelsey take you out at the start of your visit to help you get a feel of the place, or perhaps towards the end to look for species that you may have missed. Whilst finding birds for yourself is always special, why not complement your trip with a guided day out or two? Local guides know the birds in the area better than anyone, where they can be found, how they behave, how to get the best views, and the best chances for photography. Just relax and let the local guide do the work for you.
The quoted price is for two people and includes a guided birding trip throughout Extremadura for the whole day as well as a picnic lunch. Please contact us for the price for a single person or for groups of three or four people. We do not mix people up and bookings are on a first-come, first-served basis. Simply let us know what species you what to focus on and we will develop a proposal for the day to meet your requirements!
