Birdwatching Trip in Southern Ebro Delta
An Ebro Delta Birdwatching trip of the southern section of the Ebro delta by car and foot.
We will be visiting some extraordinary birding locations, starting in the morning around the Isla de Buda nature reserve. This area offers us some great riverside woodland which we will explore before progressing to L'Alfacada, where an observation tower offers a fantastic vista over the river mouth and surrounding lagoons, which are teeming with birdlife. As the day progresses we will spend some time at the excellent Riet Vell bird observatory (perfect for those with an interest in close up bird photography) before moving on to the famous salt pans of La Tancada (Flamingo heaven!), the magnificent sand spit El Trabucador (great for waders, gulls and terns) before concluding the day around the marshes of L’Encanyissada which are home to a vast abundance of bird species.
