A magical trip in where we mix two of our best birding destinations in Amazon ecosystems that include the amazing forest of the Orinoco River basin in Inirida and the beautiful and mystic forest of the White Sands of Guyana Shield in Mitu. A trip in where in 14 days will be possible to see more that 400 bird species some of their that are in the list of the most rare in Colombia. Indigenous culture, amazing rivers, a biodiversity exuberant are the perfect combination to have a wonderful trip in the Colombian amazon. Good and comfortable hotels and short transfer will do of your trip easy but full surprises.

Day 1
Day 1 - Arrival to Bogota International Airport

Arrival to El Dorado International Airport in Bogota, you will be transfer in a private transportation to a hotel in the city; if you arrive early you will can take dinner in hotel and this will be included; our guide or represent of Manakin Nature Tours will be waiting for you in the airport or hotel.

Day 2
Day 2 - Flight to Mitu and birding in Amazon Jungle – Guiana Shield

We will take a flight early in the morning to Mitu, in the flight you will can see the amazing ocean of amazon forest and to start to be so excited to down of the plain. After of our arrival we will visit a closer path in the afternoon in where many birds will be possible.

Day 3
Days 3 to 6 - Birding in the Amazon Forest of Mitu

Amazon Forest in Mitu all days, different paths and incredible birds (Indigenous communities, birds, landscapes and opportunities to see monkeys and other mammals). Mitu and the Amazon Jungle around are one of the best places in Colombia to see amazon diversity and birds, with more antbirds that other place in Colombia, Mitu is the best place to see birds of White-sand habitat, Terra firme and Varzea. Many special mammals and birds, indigenous communities and unbelievable landscapes. We will use amazing indigenous guides trained per SENA institution of the government, in series of trails around Mitu that include Cachivera, Santa Cruz, Momfort, Ceima and others.

Day 7
Day 7 - Flight to Villavicencio, transfer to Yopal

We will fly early in the morning to Villavicencio city, in where 4x4 cars will be waiting to go at Yopal city to rest, before our adventure in llanos and Hato La Aurora Natural Reserve.

Day 8
Days 8 to 10 - Hato La Aurora Natural Reserve

Transfer to Hato La Aurora, in where during our three full days in this unique and bird-rich biome, we will explore the key habitats including riverine (gallery) forest, flood plains, tropical dry forest, scrubby vegetation and shrubs. Each of these habitats offers distinctive wildlife. Hato La Aurora is a private reserve of 17.000 hectares that conserve the natural grassland of llanos and the areas of tropical, riparian and secondary forest. From 2005 the owners of the reserve conserve animals that are possible to see in the reserve as Neotropical River Otter, Giant Otter, Hoffmann's Two-toed Sloth, Mountain Lion, Central American Ocelot, Jaguar, Llanos long-nosed Armadillo, Brazilian Porcupine, Giant Armadillo, Crab-eating (Savvana) Fox, White-lipped Peccary, South American Tapir, Northern Tamandua, Giant Anteater and many more, also many aquatic and savannahs birds, reptiles and amphibians. Some of the most important birds to watch in Mururito include: Orinoco Goosee, Jabiru, Maguari Stork, King Vulture, Pale-headed Jacamar, Scarlet, White, Green, Glossy, Buff-necked, Bare-faced and Sharp-tailed Ibis, Grea Horned owl, Azure Gallinule, Black faced Tanager, and many more. The reserve have lake with permanent water, amazing forest and savannahs, the possibilities to take pictures are really incredible and the nocturnal explorations are always an available.

Day 11
Day 11 - Hato La Aurora Natural Reserve, flight to Bogota

We will spend all morning in Hato La Aurora, in the afternoon we will transfer to Yopal, to take a flight to Bogota and to rest before our next birding adventure in Inirida, in the Orinoco River Basin

Day 12
Day 12 - Flight from Bogota to Inirida

We will go take a flight to Inirida in the heart of Orinoco River Basin, after to do the check in in our hotel we will visit Caño Culebra location in where we will start to search specialized birds of White Sand Forest.

Day 13
Day 13 to 18 - Puerto Inirida and birding in Orinoco Basin & White Sand Forest

During this days we will visit different locations around Puerto Inirida. Some of the most amazing ecosystems include Humid Tropical Forest, White Sand Forst, Verzea Forest and Terra Firme. We will visit walking some amazing locations as Matraca Trail, Los Pepes, Caño Vitina, Guamal, Sabanitas, and other location in boat as Laguna Negra and Cerros de Mevecure that is a holy places for Turripaco Indigenous and one of the most beautiful places in the area. Day 19
Day 19 - Laguna Negra Boat Path and flight to Bogota / Night in Bogota (Sunday)

In our last day in Amazon Jungle we will visit Laguna Negra Location in where we will can see some amazing birds as Blue-throated PipinGuan or Hoatzin, but also to have amazing experience with the Pink River Dolphins swimming around the boat. In the afternoon we will take a flight to Bogota to end this wonderful experience.
