The Best Time of the Year for Whale Watching in Azores Islands?

Anytime - there are 4 resident Cetacean species (including Sperm Whales), and from March up to 24 species, including Blue Whales, Fin Whales, Sei Whales, and many many Dolphins, with a 98% spotting chance for Cetaceans in average of 3 different species per tour.

The Best Time of the Day for Whale Watching in Azores Islands?

There is no actual difference. In the morning the sea is usually calmer, allowing for better water travelling.

Do I need to take protection for seawater and rain?

No. Terra Azul provides all equipment necessary. However, if you decide to bring any personals or equipment to sea, you are responsible for safeguarding your belongings from the water. We are experienced not to cause a splash, but when at sea, this can happen.

Is it always possible to see Whales?

Unfortunately, as in any wildlife tour, it is not possible to guarantee that we will see specifically Whales, or any specific species at a specific time frame. We only go out when there is good chance for sightings, but even with fast Zodiac boats and our Whale lookouts placed high inland, our friends move fast and it is not uncommon for them to dive and disappear into the deep Ocean.
