Bird Watching in Chile Tour to Colbún and Altos de Lircay

The Altos de Lircay unit is located in the Maule Region, province of Talca, San Clemente commune. It was created on June 11, 1996. The unit stands out for the protection of the species of fauna the pudú, the puma and the loica.

In what has flora is concerned is the hualo and huala, classified as vulnerable. Its main hiking trails are - Laguna del Alto: 4 kilometres. Duration of the walking tour: 10 hours. Path partly under the native forest of oaks, coigües and ñirres and high Andean steppe reaches the lagoon, after a strong rise and similar descent; - The Enladrillado: 7 km. Duration of the walking tour: 11 hours. Reaching the plain of large fractured rocks, which resemble large bricks and then a few hours of walking, allows us to see the great chain of volcanoes where the Descabezado Grande, Cerro Azul and Quizapú stand out; the latter erupted in 1932; - The Beach-Valle del Venado: 13-18 km. Viewpoint: 1. Duration of the tour: 3 to 4 days.

A path that has a good part under native forest, which includes lengas (the northernmost in the country), reaches the Claro River after a few hours of walking. There it is possible to cool off without risk, since in the time of visitation the flow is very safe for people. The valley of the Deer is finally reached, crossing shortly before reaching an old cypress forest of the mountain range; - Antumahuida: 350 meters. Duration of the walking tour: 20 minutes. Path of environmental interpretation, all under native forest, with appropriate information panels ends in a spectacular view towards the Lircay river and the Morillo hill
