Griffon Vulture
One of the most iconic species in Extremadura, this great raptor will be observable to photographers daily throughout photographic expeditions.
Black Vulture
The jewel of the photographic expeditions by Nature Photo Tours Spain, is one of the largest raptors in the world and in Extremadura there are the largest colonies of Black Vultures in Europe. You can get to photograph up to 20 different examples from hides.
Egyptian Vulture
The smallest of the vultures to be photographed. In the Spring and Summer, we observe several of them in our photographic hide, up to 12 different individual birds of different ages at the same time.
Booted eagle
Between the forests of dehesa and pine trees we will have the opportunity to see a pair of Booted Eagles that appear every year to carry out their mating rituals. It is amazing to see these powerful eagles in the sky hunting pigeons and other birds in the area.
Common Cranes
The months of late autumn and winter, the fields of Extremadura become a singing festival of the Cranes, forming large groups. In total some 75,000 cranes spend their winters in Extremadura.
Black Kite and Red Kite
These raptors will accompany you in hide sessions, they are the first to arrive and you can photograph them in flight, on the ground or in trees.
Azure-Winged Magpie
One of the most unique species of this region. They are colourful and easy to see and photograph, without a doubt a unique experience to see these blue tones from the camera and listen to their singing in the forest and pastures.
Golden Eagle
The queen of the Extremeños skies. With its large size you will be fascinated and will provide you with photo shoots that you will never forget.
European Roller
A species that appears in the months where temperatures begin to rise. Their colours will contribute the wow factor to your photographs that you desire.
European Bee-eater
Moving in large groups, you can photograph and observe the bee-eaters easily. You will be able to appreciate the social behaviours between couples and with other individuals. And being a species that tolerates the camera quite well, these photo sessions will be the most entertaining.

Nature Photo Tours Spain actively participates in conservation programs both regionally and nationally.

The photos of Antonio Caño, photography guide at Nature Photo Tours Spain, have been published several times in magazines and on the WWF website, as collaborations in conservation articles about raptors.

In addition to this, a percentage of the annual profits that come from the photographic workshops is donated to projects focusing on the reintroduction and recovery of fauna carried out by AMUS (an association in Extremadura).

Also, photographers are invited to participate in reintroduction events and social awareness festivals for the protection of birds.

From the moment we arrived Antonio made sure we felt at home all the time. The nature in Extremadura is just amazing, that fauna and landscapes were completely new to us. We already assumed our guide was an expert photographer, which he proved teaching us several new techniques and perfect spots, but what really surprised us was the beauty of Extremadura. We had no idea how much we would enjoy the culture, gastronomy and history of that unknown Spanish region. We are looking forward to the next expedition. There are no good train connections to get there, so it´s important to sort out the details with your guide.
