Morelet's Tree Frog
The Morelet's tree frog is also known as the Black-eyed leaf frog., Its jet-black eyes and orange underbelly with their lime-green body make it a striking site. Found in moist, subtropical lowland rainforests and wetland habitats.
Limpkin
The limpkin look like a giant rail, resembling herons and ibises. It's bill is bent and twisted to eat snails from the shells. It lives in wetlands.
White-tailed Deer
The white tailed deer is the smalles of the deer family in the American continent. The deer has a white throat, white bely and white under tails and reddish-brown coats. The male grows antlers.
Silver Fox
Actually, it is the same species as the red fox. The fur colors are silver and black, with golden yellow color in its eyes. They are mostly solitary animals and territorial, including the feeding caches. They will eat fresh killed meat and carrion as well as plants.
Jaguar
The jaguar is the largest cat in the American continent. It has a spotted coat (rosettes) with black dots. Black jaguars are not unusual but sometimes hard to see. They enjoy water and are very good swimmers. The jaguar is highly prominent in the Mayan mythology.
American Pygmy Kingfisher
The American pygmy kingfisher is the smallest of the kingfishers in the Americas. They perch in low branches close to water, where they prey on small fish and toads. Their oily green back and rufous underparts make it a beautiful combination of colors.

Agami Heron (agamia agami)

Endemic for the Yucatan Peninsula. Habitat in or near dense forest or scrubby woods. Usually in small groups but elusive. "Metallic blue-black overall, feathers tipped blue-green to golden with subterminal black bars."

Nature Conservation is our mission and we work with Nature Tourism because it’s been demonstrated that with the development of areas equipped for nature photography the land deteriorated by agriculture or other events can be transformed into important areas of nesting and habitats for many species of birds and wildlife.

We are working on projects for land protection and support our local communities on being our technical partners, as these sites are protected and monitored.

To increase and conserve the biodiversity we also help our clients to reach the best ethical standards following some good practices and habits when exploring and living the natural environment.

Dear Bitty No matter what Jesse Says, I think you're awesome. In all seriousness, you are one of the main reasons I look forward to returning to Guatemala again and again. Certainly the birds are wonderful, the scenery is beautiful and the culture amazing but knowing that you're there to smooth over the ocasional rough spot is an incredible comfort. You let everyone else relax and have fun and that is perhaps the highest compliment I can give you. Thank you for welcome us to your home and to your country. all the best, Jeff President American Birding Association WWW.ABA.ORG

It seems a far way from those days over 20 years ago when all I knew of Guatemala was Tikal. In this last time a four years attending the Encounters I have become more and more attached to the country and its people. And now Guatemala has found its rightful place once more in the lovings/ Sunbird catalogue. With your help we have enjoyed a wonderful tour sampling the delight of Antigua El Pilar, Rincon Suizo, Los Andes, Lake Atitlan Los Tarrales, and Tikal. Highlights amongst our tally of 272 bird species were Orange breasted falcons, Crested Guans, King Vulture, Great Curassow, Red-capped Manakins and some exiting army-aunt swarms at Tikal, Provosts, Grand Sparrow, Long-tailed Manakins, and Toddy Motmot at los Tarrales, Pink-headed and Red-faced Warblers as Rincon Suizo, Assorted Hummingbirds as El Pilar and motmots, Trogons, Toucans and Orioles everywhere. Guatemala has so much to offer and your Bitty, nd Renato love and secured that we ll leave with happy memories of the country and its warm and friendly people. Thank You Bryan Bland

Guatemala Nature Tours is by far a top-notch, professional organization. My three trips to the country erased any concerns I had. I must say, most of those concerns were made by false stereotypes. Bitty and the rest of the group made my company and I feel extremely safe. Each one of my trips accomplished every single goal we had set out to and in the meantime I was able to enjoy some of the most beautiful sites in the world. The Guatemalans are wonderfully hospitable and kind-hearted and are dedicated to accommodating birders all around the world. The country ranges from lowland tropical rainforest to extraordinary volcanic mountains. I am looking into my fourth visit to the country within the near future and Guatemala Nature Tours will certainly be the first call I make! Mike Freiberg Nikon Optics

Hi Bitty, Thanks so much for your thoughtfulness and expertise with our Guatemala birding trip. You and Renato added a wonderful plus to the tour. The sharing of your home and tasty Thanksgiving dinner was indeed a pleasure. Thanks too for the purchase for me of the peppers and prunes. I will try to reproduce the beautiful gravy with my Christmas turkey. Max and I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year. Thanks again, Mary Rodel
