Birding & Wildlife Tours in Azerbaijan
In 2019 we launched Birdwatching Azerbaijan, to take advantage of Azerbaijan’s spectacular birdlife and make it accessible to both domestic and international tourists. Our aim is to preserve and promote our ornithological richness and also fight against illegal hunting in Azerbaijan.
Descending from the snowy High Caucasus the impressive and beautiful landscapes of Azerbaijan pass through steppe-covered foothills down into the arid basin through which flows the Kura River.
Southwards the lands rise again to the Talysh Mountains that straddle the border with Iran. Azerbaijan is strikingly rich in both birds and flowers with many species that are either rare in Europe or endemic to the Caucasian region. More than 400 bird species have been recorded here.
