Birding South Africa

Safari Occasions is a safari tour operator and their employees have more than 40 years of South African travel and safari experience.

As a member of SATSA (Southern Africa Tourism Services Association) they support sustainable tourism and superbly, their services and actions are supervised by the recognised authority in the Southern African tourism industry.

Their specialty is South African Birding Tours and Family Safaris, but they also offer a wide range of safari options for the Independent Traveller. They take pride in their personal service and the owners are directly involved in the planning- and execution of their itinerary. To ensure satisfaction, they manage their own shuttle service and make sure everyone are looked after from the day start-to-finish.

Birding Tours Safari Occasions is a member of Birdlife South Africa and their Birding Tours travel to sought-after Birding Routes in Kwa-Zulu Natal, Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga. These routes include various endemic birds, critically endangered species and pelagic birds. They support local communities and only use registered bird-guides who are from the areas they visit. Accommodation institutions include self-catering, lodges and hotels that support sustainable tourism and are involved in nature conservation. They also offer combined packages of Birding Tours, Wildlife Safaris and Beach Holidays.

Family Safaris  Experience nature and admire the Big Five in top-class malaria-free game reserves. They specialize in planning family safaris where parents have the opportunity to relax on their own and appreciate nature with their children. Every family safari offers exciting opportunities for children to learn more about nature and wildlife through activities with trained field guides; family safaris are suitable for single parents and families up to 10 people.

Independent Travel Safari Occasions offer a high personal service and therefore every destination is personally visited by the owners to guarantee satisfaction at a quality destination. Some of the locations visited include Kruger National Park, Welgevonden Game Reserve, Madikwe Game Reserve, Kariega Game Reserve, Hluhluwe- iMfolozi Park, Thula Thula Game Reserve, Shamwari Game Reserve and various other popular destinations.
